Originally Mickey's plow horse, he emerged as a "song and dance" horse and tended to play against Clarabelle Cow. He was never seen without his plow collar, hence his name. However the character died away as the artists seemingly didn't know what to do with him and he was retired in favor of other more interesting characters.
