Comments

From Ryan : Alice and her friends are putting on "Uncle Tom's Cabin" when Alice is knocked unconscious by a stack of newspapers, falling into a fantasy of herself in the North. I find that some of the animation is nicely done for that era. Some of it include the cabin sliding down the hill and Pete's dogsled. The ending of this short, I feel, has a humorous ending when the black kid tries to splash what he thinks is water (actually white paint) onto Alice, but instead hits the kid who is playing Simon Legree. There is a cartoon incident within the live action segment. The black kid accidentally sits in a bucket of nails (which are actually animated). Another kid pries the nails out of his buttocks.
