Comments

From Trae Robinson : Donald wears a straw hat again in this cartoon like in the cartoon Old MacDonald Duck. Another Disney character who does gardens is Rabbit from "Winnie The Pooh." Donald says something when his bucket comes apart and water goes down a hole. He says "Why do these things have to happen to me" is Rabbit's catchphrase later on.
From Baruch Weiss : There is a World War two reference in this cartoon. In those days produce shops were closed. Thus, people had to grow their own produce. Anyway back to the short. I enjoyed the opening where Donald sings "In the Good Ol' Summertime," but I felt sorry for him at the end when the gopher ate all of the produce.
