  • Released for showing at the preview station in The Disney Stores. Theatrically released with the Disney animated film "Doug's First Movie."

From Mickey Fanatic : The story line for this gag cartoon was very impressive, yet I've noticed that the voices have not been as satisfactory as I had hoped. Donald's voice seemed somewhat different, perhaps in a higher tone than you'd hear from the classics ranging from the 1930s-1970s. Daisy's voice was quite similar however.
From Tom : Well I saw this short at the Disney store with no sound on and liked it then. Then when I saw it on the Disney channel ( not with "Doug's 1st movie" thank god! ) I absolutley adored it. One of the reasons I liked it was because it used the design of Donald and Daisy from 1954's Donald's Diary, which has always been one of my favourites. It wasn't as sophisticated as Mickey's New Car, but it what it lacked for in those areas, it more then made up for in humour. Overall, probably the best "Mouseworks" short so far, and definately the best of the short-shorts. Look out for the "Donald's Dynamite", it shows potential for a longer life then the "Pluto gets the Paper", "Maestro Minnie" and "Mickey to the Rescue" series.
From Rich Bellacera : Finally we get to see this cartoon in the series. I saw it a few times at the Disney store so I already knew the whole plot. Anyhow, I can't say I'm real thrilled with the whole "Donald tries everything to put out the fuse on the bomb" plot device. It's concept is silly and without reason, but I must say that Daisy was quite the looker! Both she and Donald were colored pale yellow and Daisy had the same look she had in Donald's Diary (1954), which I liked. Other than that I don't have much to say about the cartoon other than the art was very nice. I didn't like the abrupt appearance of the 3D robot at the end of the cartoon, it ruined the mood.
From Juan F. Lara : I finally got to see this short, and I was appalled. The fuse kept relighting again and again. But in most of the instances there's no explanation why it kept relighting. I DID know that it was a cartoon, but the relighting just didn't make any sense. So instead of laughing I just kept going "Huh?!?".

I also thought that this short had particularly sloppy animation. Donald's tantrum looked like stock footage. The short also moved too rapidly from one gag to another, using outlandish camera angles that only disoriented me. The previous short Bowling now looked better as a result, as that short had much neater pacing.

FWIW, Daisy was drop dead gorgeous here, in Donald's Diary mode.
