From Lee Suggs : Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore (appearing here for the first time in a new short in about forty years) calls the bears to order and tells them to be sure to catch a fish for the winter. He makes a particular point of letting Humphrey know he'd better catch a BIG FISH this time, because he won't be getting any handouts at the ranger's house. So Humphrey sets out and soon he has a BIG FISH in his grasp. Unfortunately the fish is attached to a line which is attached to Donald Duck's fishing pole. So begins a struggle for the BIG FISH. The gags in this cartoon come fast and furious and flow together seamlessly. This is a very entertaining short and certainly one of the best of the "MouseWorks" series. It even has an excellent "surprise" ending.
From Juan F. Lara : To tell the truth I was never a fan of Humphrey the Bear. This short basically consisted of Donald vs. Humphrey fighting over a fish. So I couldn't get too interested in this short. But a lot of the short's slapstick does work well. The short built up some sympathy for Humphrey at the start with that running gag about him always finishing last because of someone else's fault. OTOH, Humphrey's pain was good for a few laughs when his arm got scaled along with that fish. ("Now for some salt...")

I think Jeff Bennett played Ranger Woodlore. His voice sounded pretty off, though.
