The set-up, well, that's lame. Mickey did a mistake similar to his errors in "Mickey's Mistake" and "Mickey's Piano Lesson", and he went to the same attempts to avoid getting caught that was shown in those two shorts. That premise is too silly and too preachy to be appealing. (I also couldn't get past the rent being only $50.00.) A lot more interesting was Daisy having an act she really wanted to perform. After the first commercial the makers wisely focused attention on that instead of the rent. Daisy's acts were very funny references to certain Magic Kingdom acts. I really liked the enthusiasm she had for her acts. That made me feel positive overall to this ep. (It was also cool to see Donald have a valid reason to gloat over Mickey. Personally, I didn't think he had anything to say sorry about.) They also used the rent as a jump-off point for a clever scene of Mickey hitting up various guests for stuff. They came up with some good ways to connect the characters. I also liked the selection of characters, mostly pre-Mermaid ones. Especially the last character. OTOH we had a couple of lists read off by Goofy. Believe me, lists are never funny. Not ever, as best as I can remember. (Speaking of one of those scenes, I don't think Johnny Appleseed is supposed to be violent...)
Who played Cinderella in this episode? I thought that Ilene Woods was still alive. I really hoped Ilene could reprise her role if Cindy ever talked in this show. Brother, O'Malley and the Alley Cats are sure getting a bum deal from the club. It ain't right to screw around Disney furries like that. I'd like to see an ep where Thomas et al do get to perform. That would be a good ending to this running gag.
