House of Mouse has become a showcase for wonderful sight gags and amusing Disney Character cameos.
This episode out does them all.
We start with Mickey being introduced as Steamboat Willie and he then appears as STEAMBOAT WILLIE! (Very Cool) Next we are treated to a goofy series of sight gags starring Goofy. I won't ruin the show for you by explaining the gags, but it is one of the most amusing action sequences I've ever seen. Since Goofy is making such a mess of things everyone goes to Mickey to ask him to make Goofy act "not so goofy". As usual Minnie has a way to make the impossible happen: Jose Carioca. Such a smooth and sophisticated bird should be able to take take the goofiness right out of the Goof. (No offensive to Jose, But I don't think so.)
Amazingly Jose's charm lessons WORK! Goofy becomes UnGoofy. Just as amazing is that UnGoofy's sight gags are more amusing then the GREAT Goofy sight gags earlier in the show. (I'll share part of just one, I want you to enjoy these gags for yourself.) Goofy expertly gives each Dwarf a dish that fits that Dwarf's personality. He then gives Snow White a dish specially prepared with "no apple".) Of course, UnGoofy makes the House of Mouse's guests and managers wish for a return of the old Goofy.
As a last resort The Three Caballeros decide to sing a song about being who you really are. This turns out to be a solo by Panchito the Rooster titled "My name is Panchito Romero".....and so on for about ten names. This is the HIGHLIGHT of a great episode. Not only are the song's lyrics clever and amusing the wild sight gags that go along with the words are HILARIOUS! (Think Monty Python meets Ward Kimball.) After the song Goofy still isn't himself until Mickey askes him to be Goofy again. Then all is right (or is it wrong?) with the world.
