The makers had a lot of fun playing out the superhero conventions:
- Goofy's narrator went on comic book mode, saying everything in hyperbolae. For a funny sight gag they sometimes matched the narration with the lines written out in bold letters.
- They used various Disney characters for clever ways to demonstrate Super Goof's power. I especially liked his use of x-ray vision to rescue Pinocchio and Gepetto, and his using the "Dumbo" elephants to demonstrate his super strength. (Those elephants have already had acrobatic experience after all.)
- I laughed a lot all through the comet scene. They got a little playful with Clarabelle Cow, leading to a cheeky sight gag where the comet comes very close to hitting its "target". I also liked the way Goofy disposed of the comet. He must've figured the Super Garbage Truck could take care of it. ("That was silly.")
The HoM segment felt rushed though. Just a couple of scenes after Goofy ate his first Super Goober everyone in the club knew about and idolized Super Goof. I wondered if actually several nights had passed since Super Goof's origin. Only a few seconds after Super Goof was enjoying his fame Goofy was getting fed up enough to ditch the goobers, but a few seconds after that he went back to being Super Goof. Goofy's changes of heart felt jarring. This was another episode that showed how limiting the HoM segment's 7 minute allotted time can be. I wished this ep's segment could've have 16 minutes at least.
BTW: Rich Pegasus won't be happy seeing Goofy and Clarabelle as a couple again. This was especially baffling as Horace Horsecollar had a prominent cameo in this ep. How does he feel about this?
