Comments

A combination live-action / animated short. It was made for a local dentist, Dr. Thomas B. McCrum and released to the Missouri school system.

From Maude Waltjers : I remember back when I was in 3rd grade in the early 20's, my teacher showed us this film on proper dental care. I really wish I could find this cartoon on video.

From Jerry Edwards : Although this is mainly a live-action education film about brushing your teeth, there are some fun parts. A woman tells a group of children a true story - about friends Tommy Tucker and Jimmie Jones. Tommy took care of his teeth; Jimmie didn't. Jimmie ended up with toothaches and unable to sleep or do school work. When both of them applied for an after-school job, Tommy got the job and Jimmie didn't. The employer advised Jimmie to take better care of himself. Jimmie goes to the dentist and takes care of his teeth. Jimmie is later hired by the same employer. Two scenes of limited animation of "acid demons" attacking teeth is the main animation. The "acid demons" are fun - they look like devils, except their horns look like antennas. Later there is limited animation of alarm clocks with wings moving across the screen with the words TIME FLIES. One part that I personally get a snicker from is that Tommy is rather plump. When the school doctor weighs them, he raves about how healthy Tommy is and how thin and unhealthy Jimmie is. Jimmie looks to be a good weight - Tommy is definitely fat.
