Comments

From Ryan : Although Mickey's personality is becoming rather bland, he still shows some signs of mischief. For example, he takes an egg from the nest of an emu (who looks more like an ostrich). This is similar to what he did in the short ALPINE CLIMBERS where he took some eagle eggs out of the nest. While Mickey is doing this, Pluto is having some problems with a boomerang. Okay of a short, but not one of my favorites.

From David Willis : I loved this short which I have wanted to see for ages and then I found it on the Alice in Wonderland dvd (UK). Featuring Mickey and Pluto there is no real plot it just a lort of sight gags and the two characters getting into mischief but nonetheless enjoyable.

From Baruch Weiss : Mickey and Pluto are, as the title says, Down Under in this short. Pluto is having trouble with a boomerang that seems to have a mind of its own (as many inanimate objects tend to in cartoons both today and classic) and Mickey gets into trouble with an emu (I do blame him, after all he was asking for trouble), but Pluto manages to save him despite the boomerang getting stuck in his mouth! I wonder if this cartoon was the inspiration for The Rescuers Down Under?
