Comments
-
From Ryan : I find this to be quite a fun
musical short. I remember singing this song back in school. This was long
before I saw this cartoon. Aside from the music, I also enjoy the animation.
-
From Gabe Bennett : At the time this short was released, Janie, widow of the real Casey Jones, and Simm Webb, the African-American fireman who was with him the night he died, were both very much alive.
I would be interested in knowing what they might have thought of this cartoon.
Personally, though, "The Brave Engineer" has always been one of my favorite Disney shorts. I think its an absolute shame that we've gotten so thin-skinned in this country that we can't even show a brief two-second scene of train robbers brandishing a knife or gun. I mean, that's just ridiculous!
Someone needs to put a stop to all this PC-editing before its too late.
-
From Baruch Weiss : Not a bad cartoon! Jerry Colonna, who also voiced the March Hare in "Alice in Wonderland" is great as the narrarator!
-
From C.J. : This is by far my favorite short!
