Comments

From Ryan : Goofy is a private eye who is
hired by a bride to locate the missing Al whom she is to marry. The sheriff
in this cartoon looks and sounds like Pete, but in Pete's filmography section
of The Encyclopedia of Disney's Animated Characters, this cartoon
is not listed. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that is Pete. This is one of
those cartoons where Pete portrays a good guy (others include "The Barn Dance,"
"They Symphony Hour," and "The Chain Gang"). Pete is always telling Goofy
to "leave this case to the police." This cartoon is not shown (at least in
the U.S.) anymore, probably because of all the extremely violent scenes.
-
From Pauline : This is my favorite Goofy
cartoon short! It has great gags, mystery, and just plain goofiness! It's
also cool 'cause the red head chick's name is Pauline. Same as mine.
-
From Sam : This hilarious cartoon seemlessly
combines the classic Goofy persona with fast-and-furious gags that seem more
like those of the Looney Tunes or Tex Avery than Disney's usual style. Although
extremely violent at time, the short's great humor and a fast pacing make
it one of the funniest Disney shorts of it's time.
-
From Baruch Weiss : As Ryan has pointed out
this short is not shown anymore. In general all of the Disney shorts are
not shown anymore and that upsets me. Anyway watch this film closely and
you will see "Mickey Mouse"on the front cover of the comic book that Goofy
is reading.
I have seen "How To Be a Detective" and would like to
