Comments

From Brad Bethel : It's been a long time since I last saw this cartoon (I'm still waiting to see it again). I still remember most of what happened. But unless I'm wrong, in response to the more recent school violence, I don't think Disney will be showing this cartoon for a long time. The ending involves one of the kids BOMBING the school, subsequently writing on the chalkborad a million times, "I will not bomb the school", all at Goofy's own expense. While I enjoyed watching this cartoon not too long ago, I'd be pretty upset if it really was banned.

From Ryan : This is one of my favorite Goofy cartoons. I find several of the moments in this short funny such as the sequence where some of the kids are whispering dirty things to each other and Goofy overhears them. He then rips up a "birds and bees" chart. While the narrator (voiced by Alan Reed of "The Flintstones") is discussing the children's creativity, the naughty student, George is splashing paint on his desk. Another part I enjoy is the parent-teacher conference with Goofy and one student's father who says "What's wrong with my kid's grammar?" and hits Goofy. This cartoon is also quite controversial in today's world with all the references to school violence. The troublemaking student George bombs the school at the end of the cartoon and has to write I WILL NOT BOMB THE SCHOOL AGAIN (somewhat reminds me of Bart Simpson's blackboard writing's during the opening sequence). During the part where the students are singing, Goofy is shown confiscating George's weapons (grenades, firecrackers, knives, etc.). Of course, at the time this cartoon was made, people would have thought the idea of school violence to be absurd.
