- From Jon Cooke : The
reactions of Chip and Dale to Clarice in the nightclub seem to be
inspired by Tex Avery's characters in MGM cartoons like "Red Hot Riding
Hood" and "Swing Shift Cindrella".
- From Lee Suggs : Chip and
Dale fight each other over knockout torch singer Clarice. I like this
short, probably because the boys look so ridiculous in a tuxedo and top
hat. (As Chip is leaving the tree he looks in the mirror and thinks to
himself, in a very urbane voice, "you gay dog". A line I found very
funny, but probably wouldn't work in today's society.) There are some
fun musical performances with Dale on bass and Chip on the piano. (The
Disney Channel shows clips from this short on D-TV's closing.) All in
all this is a fun short, and its different to see Chip and Dale fight
each other, instead of Donald or Pluto. (And Clarice is soooo sexy, for
a chipmunk.)
- From Adam : Two chipmunks hit
the nightclub to flirt over the same sexy chimpmunkette. Classic C and
D rivalry with a more adolescent theme. I love that song they play but
don't know which song it is! Can anyone help me out here? "Little Girl,
you're as sweet as can be..." ? Only reason it's a 9 is because you
don't know what happens afterwards... No more episodes with Clarice!
- From Ryan : Although I am not
normally a Chip 'n' Dale fan, I didn't mind this short too much. This
was probably becuase this is one of the few Chip 'n' Dale shorts where
the two chipmunks don't torment a character. In this case, they are
rivals for the sexy Clarice.
- From Al Foster : This is one
of the single most wonderful cartoons I've ever seen, mainly because
(and this is true for so many Disney shorts) the wonderful, wonderful
music in it. The instrumental score music AND the songs they croon in
the night club. Like I always said (and still do, of course), Disney 's
feature films, DUMBO, SNOW WHITE and so on are... well, nice to look
at, but these shorts, man, THESE are the true -the true- gems of Walt
Disney and his greatest legacy. Kudos and such heart-felt thanks to all
the animators, writers and of course to Oliver Wallace and Paul Smith
for composing such great music for so many of them. Why aren't they all
released chronologically on DVD?
- From Baruch Weiss : This is a
great short. Chip and Dale attend a night club and vie for the
attention of Clarice. Of course what really won me over just like many
of the Disney shorts was the wonderful music, this time done by Joseph
S. Dubin.
- From Mary : To answer Adam's
question about the song at the end of the short -- it's "Little Girl,"
which was sung by Whispering Jack Smith back in the 1920s. I think it's
an adorable song that's sadly forgotten today, although Marvin Hamlisch
did make use of it in his soundtrack for "The Sting."

say enough good things about this splendidly done cartoon. Everything
about it is excellent, from the 'cozy' animation of the way Chip and
Dale's home is drawn to the music and the nightclub, and Clarice.
Little details make this one memorable to me; the leaf curtains, the
look of the steps and tables, and of course the fight for Clarice's
affections is endlessly fun. I love the music and the animation and
everything about this cartoon, beginning to end.
- From Joseph Hill : This is one of my favorite Chip and Dale shorts. I saw it when I was around 5, and remembered most of it. I can't remember the last time I saw it, but in retrospect I should have hidden all those old VHS tapes my grandparents recorded just because of how Disney is now.
I was watching the "House of Mouse" a few days ago which featured the duo's older cartoons. When Two Chips and a Miss came on I was overjoyed. I sat and watched with no distractions, as it brought back some memories.
When Chip stood in front of the mirror gazing at how sharp he looks in a suit I expected him to say "You gay dog"... Other than this minor annoyance the cartoon was for the most part intact, right up to the romantic end. Damn you disney for being conservative!
My only hope is to get the Chip and Dale shorts DVD and PRAY that they keep what was there in the first place.
I too, like so many others, love the music from this particular episode. I have searched for the lyrics on Google and Yahoo, but with little luck.

- From Dino Cencia : I really liked this Chip and Dale cartoon. Also, I liked the girl chipmunk Clarice. She is so cool and so sweet. I liked the part when Chip and Dale played music with the piano and a guitar. Clarice sings while Chip and Dale play music. I liked when they were singing that "little girl" song. I give this cartoon a 70. So romantic!
- From Hsa La : I love this short! What really won me over was the music. Mainly what I like is the whole number including the piano solo after Chip crashed into the piano. It's a shame that this isn't shown much. If it was there would be (as Groucho Marx said), dancing in the streets, etc.

She is cute (hot for a chipmunk) and cool but to bad this is the only short with her and that she
didn't choose one of the chipmunks. I love both the songs they are singing especially at the end when
all three of them sing together.
