Comments
-
From Ryan : This cartoon focuses on two
neighbors: Donald, the new neighbor and Pete, Donald's next door neighbor.
Pete is willing to take advantage of the new neighbor by using any of his
things, whether they be food or his garden tools. I enjoy the climax of this
cartoon, the battle between neighbors. This ending, which, I will not give
away, has somewhat of a twist to it.
-
From Ashley : Seeing Donald take on Pete
is always a hoot, and I'm sure anyone who has had an obnoxious neighbor across
the way shares our favorite duck's feelings on the matter. He really illustrates
what we'd like to do... but can't in mixed company.
To see them go at it at the fence... well, let's just say you won't be able
to stop laughing. The ending just makes it better, but I'm not telling! You'll
have to see it for yourself.
-
From Jennifer : I always loved this one - well I loved all of them - back when the Disney Channel actually used to show the older cartoons. In fact, I named my cocker spaniel that I had as a child, Muncy - after Pete's dog in this cartoon!
-
From Baruch Weiss : Says the narrarator at the beginning of this short "It has always been man's constant labor to live in peace with his next door neighbour and on the newcomer falls the chore in getting along with the man next door." Such is not the case in this cartoon however as Fat Pete takes advantage of his "New Neighbour". In 8/1/53 there was such a thing as grocery and hardware stores so why didn't Pete just go there?
I have seen "The New Neighbour" and would like to
