From Graham Hackett : This is another really
neat short. In this short Donald is strolling through the park as a peanut
seller.(of course this was during the days where not much people new about
peanut allergies). He see's a flying squirrel nearby and since it can fly
he enlists the help of it to hang up and advertisement banner. The squirrel
refuses. Donald picks a peanut out of the peanut cooker and seeing the peanut,
the flying squirrel then decides to help. The squirrel opens the peanut to
eat it but the inside of it turns out to be a piece of coal. Feeling ripped
off, the squirrel complaines to Donald about the undercooked peanut. Donald
just says "Sorry! the complaint department is closed!" then laughs. Deciding
to get even, the squirrel finds a box of "Quacker Jacks" pulls out the prizes
which are two pistols and a Cowboy hat and gets an Idea and the war begins.

From Ryan : Donald is a peanut vendor working
in the city park. A flying squirrel, who wants a peanut, agrees to help Donald
hang a banner from one tree to another in exchange for a peanut. The peanut
that the squirrel gets has nothing but an old peanut that turns to dust inside
the shell and war pursues. I do not care for this cartoon at all for two
reasons:
1. It is another one of those hero vs. cute animal shorts
2. The animation and background art was done very cheaply. I guess by this
time, Disney was sutting down their shorts department and did not have the
money to produce high-quality animation.
I have seen "The Flying Squirrel" and would like to
submit a comment on this short
