From Jon Cooke : Kind of slow starting, but
the action picks up once a Goofy fairy tries to save the leader of the Goofy
fairies from a bug-collecting kid.
-
From Juan F. Lara : Shouldn't that be "Goofies"?
This was the only short in this episode that I liked. Well, actually I didn't
care much for the first half of this short. They weren't really parodying
"Fantasia" here. Just imitating it using a lot of Goofys, and doing a lot
of slapstick. I thought all of the short was going to be like this. But things
got really interesting when the kid ( a HUMAN kid surprisingly enough ) showed
up.This was the only short that had real danger. I liked how the makers darkened
the mood with the first shots of inside the kid's room, and the artists did
a good job making the kid look creepy. So I cared enough to pay attention
to the action when the fairy and the king try to escape, the sight gags in
theses scenes seemed more inspired than in the other shorts. It was also
fun seeing the king brought down a few notches in the course of the second
half. The soundtrack had only music ( reminding me a lot of "Bumble in the
Jungle" from Craig and Gannaway's "Timon and Pumbaa" ), solving the problem
of too much takling that the other shorts had. DYN: Hope the kid's got a
good explanation for that skull.

From John Renard : I felt this was good with
the Fantasia parody/imitation until the Toy Story parody/imitation kicked
in. I thought it was funny when the goofys were being eaten by the frogs,
but I really thought this short was lacking. (One of the more suspenseful
ones, though.)

From Aaron : One of the best of the MMWW
cartoons! This one is just plain fun and clever! I loved the music and scenery
played and shown at the beginning! It reminded me a lot about Fantasia. Those
Goofies reminded me of Goofy as Puck! HILARIOUS. The flower opening reminded
me of the Goofies being insects. Things got EVEN better in the episode when
a creepy looking boy kidnaps the leader of the Goofies. They did a GREAT
job making the boy look like a fiend. And the rest of this episode is priceless.
I have seen "Dance of the Goofys" and would like to
submit a comment on this short
