Comments

From Juan F. Lara : It was fun to see the chipmunks again. ( I also liked the gopher cameo. Disney rodents are the best Disney characters. This episode was amusing, though unremarkable and not as good as "Donald and the Big Nut". Rather than have the usually big list of stuff done to Donald the episode's time was mostly taken up by one gag, of the munks using the magnet on the golf ball. But I thought the funniest moments were at the start when Donald was acing the first 17 holes. It was something unusual to see Donald being so successfull.

From Lee Suggs : Donald's battles with Chip and Dale have consistently produced some of Disney's best short cartoons. This short is in that tradition. Donald sets out to break the golf course record and to win a trophy. He's doing great until his 18th hole drive is blocked by a tree. He saws the tree down, and prepares to win the trophy. Of course, we all know who lived in the tree. The munks, of course, have to punish Donald, and they do to hilarious effect. First they put metal in his ball to keep him from hitting it, then they drive off with it, and finally they move the hole itself around. All this results in Donald still winning a trophy, for the worst golf score ever. This is a fun short with non-stop, clever action. Chip, Dale and Donald are an unstoppable team.
