Released along with the movie "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets."
From Rachel : I laughed so hard I cried! I especially like the part about the "sub-woofer." I would love to own a copy of this short film.
From Jennifer : This was very, very funny. I could relate to a number of the situations. I hope this is eventually available for sale. It is a classic.
From JPox : An instant classic! Goofy's visit to the Shiny Things store and his troubles of hooking up his new system had me in stiches. And 'ahem' I could relate with a few of his bunglings... The film makers really captured the classic feel of the 50's shorts! I hope the future Disney shorts hold up to this one!
From Vicki : I just about died laughing at this and was disappointed that it was not included in the DVD release of the second National Treasures movie. Or, did I miss it on the DVD?
From Baruch Weiss : I have not seen this short in the theater, but recently viewed it on youtube and I must admit it is a good one. It opens up with the usual opening which has opened so many great classic cartoons in the past and ends with the usual ending like in the classic cartoons as well as the credits which one would normally see during the title presentation. However, this short will never be as good as the ones from days of old.
From Christian : When I first saw this on YouTube, I didn't expect it to be as good as it turned out to be. It was actually more enjoyable than practically any House of Mouse cartoon I can remember. My favorite part was where the narrator lists the parts of the home theater system and (like in older cartoons) starts talking so fast you can't understand him. When he slows down, you can hear him say, "E=MC2." One of the only good Disney cartoons produced nowadays.
From Anthony C. : I gotta tell ya man, I'm a massive enthusiast of classical animation in general and hold to the belief that another revival in the Golden Age style is pending-especially with the showing of cartoons in theaters again.
And this couldn't be any greater evidence. I'm a real sucker for stuff like this. They did the poster, the animation (FINALLY something 2-D from Disney again...) and everything like it was back then. This even inspired me to get back into Toonboom. A great short that's real good proof 2-D animation shall never die.
From Bryan Hensley : This new short has never been on home video in the USA. At least it hasn't yet as of April 2009 when I typed this comment. It was never shown at Disney's House of Mouse! How do you explain the narrator mentioning "Blu-ray" with all the stuff Goofy would need for his High-definition TV? Blu-ray discs didn't go worldwide until Fall 2006 or later for Pete's sake! This short sure does have the look and feel of a classic Disney short from the 40's and 50's put together! (Only in a widescreen format.) It was in theatres with National Treasure 2 at Christmastime of 2007! I'd be amazed if this short made its home video debut in either a new Disney Treasures tin or a future volume of Disney's new Animation Collection (The one with lithographs in the cases which are blank on the backs!)
